No Meeting
AAWV Juried Exhibition 2008 Prospectus now available at Prospectus
February 2008
Feb. 14 - Art Day at the Legislature- 10am - 1pm in the lower rotunda of the Capitol.
Next meeting will be held Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the Clay Center in Charleston, corner of Washington St. and Leon Sullivan Way.
For meetings we are allowed to park in the driveway----but NOT in the fire lane.
Board meeting starts at 6:00pm; regular meeting at 6:30.
Barbara Raeker, the new curator of the art museum will guide us on a walk-thru of the current exhibit. Please make every effort to attend.
Art Walk- Feb. 21, 2008. Art Emporium, 823 Quarrier St. Charleston, 5 - 8 PM.Bring work to be exhibited by 5 PM.
Art Emporium Peter Bramberg has expanded the Art Emporium and will show Allied Artists members work. His commission will be 30%.

<Renaissance Art Gallery in Huntington, presents its Spring National Art Exhibition, Visions of Music.Up to 3 pieces of work for each submission. All submitted works will be hung. Two-dimensional work image area no larger then 8 x 10. Frames no larger then 11 x 14. Three-dimensional work limited to 10 inches in any direction, including the base or pedestal. Deadline March 15. May 2008 Next Meeting will be on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 6:30 (board meets at 6:00) at the Clay Center. May 12, 5 pm- Deadline for application to Tamarack: “The Best of West Virginia” juried exhibition. Art Walk May 15 AAWV 66th Juried Exhibit May 24 - June 22, 2008,will be held at The Huntington Museum of Art. Awards total up to $4000.00, including Best of Show and Awards of Excellence in 2D and 3D categories. The Juror, Andrew Johnson of Carnegie Melon University, has requested that all submissions be digital images on CD. Deadline for submissions is March 1 (postmarked). These images must not be altered in any way or disqualification may result. We suggest you use professional photo stores such as PPS in South Charleston. Prospectus:One has been mailed to each member and can also be downloaded from our website http://alliedartistswv.org. This exhibit is open to non-members as well. Paul Hartman, the chairperson for this exhibit, has asked for volunteers to assist with the show, 304-462-5800, pch1949@yahoo.com. Specifically, he needs people in the Huntington area to receive the art at the Museum on Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17. Art work for AAWV Juried Show 2008, may be shipped to arrive May 9-10, but must be picked up at the conclusion of the show: AAWV will not be responsible for storage, packaging or shipping art work. FestivAll-June 28-29. AAWV Juried Show, June 27-28, 2008 Pick up art work from Noon to 4pm July 2008 No Meeting July 27 to August 4 Delivery of AAWV art to Tamarack. All AAWV members (dues paid!) are welcome to participate, limited to three pieces per person. August 2008 No Meeting August 10 - September 12 AAWV exhibiting at Tamarack. The opening reception is August 10 from 3:00 to 4:30pm.
Augusta Craft Fair- The Juried Craft Fair will be held Saturday August 9, 2008, from 10am to 6pm in Elkins, West Virginia. It is part of the Augusta Festival, which runs from Friday August 10 through Sunday August 12, 2008. Jury sessions will be held on May 15, 2008. See www.augustaheritage.com for more information. December 2008 ArtWalk, Art Emporium, Charleston 5-8pm 'Art in the Heart' All Allied Artists members invited to show 1-3 pieces; drop off art between 3-4pm and pick up at 8pm. Participating artists are expected to contribute food; AAWV will provide drinks & tableware. It's a good time to visit other members, and have a walk around town to see other art displays. Participating galleries are: Art Emporium, Annex Gallery (Taylor Books), Gallery Eleven, Dolly Hartman Studio, Show Case West Virginia, Roger Lucas, Ellen's Ice Cream, Vision Day Spa MAP Copywrite 2005-2007 All rights reserved by respective artists.
