I have read & understand:

• Allied Artists of West Virginia (AAWV) is a group of state artists & craftsmen who strive to maintain HIGH standards in all forms of art, jurying by peer review (at least 3 who have participated as Board Members).
• AAWV is an equal opportunity organization and makes no judgments based on race, creed, religion or preferences.
• Candidate must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of West Virginia.
• A minimum of 5 pieces of each media to be juried are required; they must be finished & ready to display, as in an exhibition. It is highly recommended 2D art be framed; presenting unframed work may be considered unfinished and disqualify candidate. ‘Creative Edge’ and ‘gallery wrap’ are acceptable.
• Work must be original, expressing the artist’s own style & integrity. Copies made from other artwork, or from photographs in books & magazines, are not acceptable. Work done in workshops or under the supervision of an instructor are not acceptable.
• Our year begins each September; dues of $30.00 are payable each September to maintain Active status. The dues of new members jurying in April will be applied to the coming year.
• Member’s benefits are only available to Active members, whose dues have been paid for the year.
• AAWV expects membership participation in committees and shows (though not a requirement of membership), in order to provide member benefits & encourage growth of the organization and individual artists.
