DATE CHANGE. The New Member Jury Session for AAWV will be Saturday, Nov 6, 2010 at the Art Emporium, 823 Quarrier St, Charleston, WV. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, and residents of West Virginia. Applicants must create original art and/or crafts of advanced design using techniques related to the media employed. The artists' work should express their own style.
5 pieces (only) of finished work must be delivered to Art Emporium at 823 Quarrier St in Charleston which is handicapped accessible. Drop off time is from 10:00am to 11:30am on the date of the jury session. Art may be picked up at 3:00pm.
We will also accept digital images from applicants in April and October. Send a CD with digital images of 5 pieces (only) of finished work along with the application and check for $30.00 to Brenda Beatty, 427 Eighth Ave, St. Albans, WV 25177. The CD will not be returned. The CD and application must be received at least a week before the date of the current jury session. Please do not send your application at times other than April and October.
Copies made from other art work or from published photographs are not acceptable. Work done in workshops or under supervision of an instructor is not acceptable. White matting is recommended for art work that requires matting.
Annual membership dues are $30. A check (no cash) must accompany the application. Applicants will be notified of acceptance in writing within two weeks. Checks will be returned if membership is denied.
