At WVU she studied with Joe Moss, John Clarkson, and Ben Freedman. After graduation with a BFA, Brenda worked as a social worker, early childhood specialist, and administrator. Brenda worked as an early childhood educator in both the public and private sector. She taught art at Sunrise and the Charleston Art Gallery. Brenda taught art in London , England. She currently teaches water color painting at the Hansford Senior Center. Brenda uses multiple media including photography, but watercolor is her first love. She does mostly still life and portraits. Brenda also works extensively in religious art including vestment design, banners, and icons.She painted the banner that led the national Episcopal delegation in the 1963 March on Washington. Brenda's banner appeared on the cover of a national publication. Other influences on Brenda's work have come from attending workshops with Frank Webb, Susan Tregay, Beth Patterson, Donna Zogotta, Janet Rogers, Linda Baker, Don Getz, Peter Pierson, and Phillip Zimmerman. Brenda's work has been exhibited at West Virginia University, Kanawha County Schools, West Virginia Watercolor Society, Stations of the Cross 2006, Carnegie Hall, Tamarack, Museum in the Community, Festivall, The Renaissance Gallery, West Virginia Art and Craft Guild Competition 2008 held in Parkersburg, Wheeling, and Concord. Brenda Kincaid Beatty is a member of the Allied Artists of West Virginia, The West Virginia Watercolor Society, and the West Virginia Art and Craft Guild.
