McIntire, Sandy

Sandy McIntire is a successful artist and musician living in Fayette County.  She is a juried member of the WV Guild of Arts and Crafts and Allied Artists of West Virginia.

In 2004, Sandy won First Prize in Mixed Media at the Appalachian Art Show for a collage titled Castle Sky.  In 2005, she won a Patron Merit Award at the same show for a collage titled Violin.  At the Spring show in 2005, Sandy won Third Place in Mixed Media with her collage titled Republique Georgienne and Honorable Mention for another collage titled Madonna.  Sandy has also won awards for her collages in a show held by the BAG Register Herald in Beckley, and a winter scene collage was accepted and sold at the 5th WV Guild Competition.  Artitude, an internationally distributed art magazine, has published her collages.

Since 2007, Sandy has changed her focus to watercolor.  She has studied with Don Andrews, AMS, and Jerry Birdsong, WV Watercolor Society. 
Previous to moving to West Virginia in 2003, Sandy studied art at the Crealde School and Rollins College in Winter Park, FL.  She currently lives in Mount Hope where she teaches music and pursues her art creations in several media, e.g. 3 dimensional boxes, paper collage, and watercolor.
