After graduating from Parkersburg South High School and Marshall University, I began my teaching career in 1978. I taught at Spencer Junior High, South Point Junior High, Ripley Middle, and am currently at Ripley High School.
I am a member of
WVEA since 1978. Allied Artists since October 21, 2005, Artists Register at the Division of Culture and History in Charleston, WV since May, 2007, and a Juried member of West Virginia Watercolor Society since August, 2008.

Erma Byrd Gallery at the University of Charleston. I was requested to donate a piece of work to their permanent collection to represent Jackson County in February, 2007.

Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Sorority meeting in Charleston May, 2008.

Parkersburg Art Center in the 07 and 08 Regional shows. I also had a solo exhibit featuring 54 pieces of framed work titled, "The Way I See It". The show opened June 12, 2008 and continued until September, 2008.

I am married to Steve Sisson, a self employed draftsman, and am the mother of two. Jay is a student at Marshall University and Stephanie a student at Ripley High School.
I continue to be involved in my community, school and church having donated art work to each. I find the quiet lifestyle afforded to living in a rural area to be inspirational to my work. Teaching provides the incentive to continue working in art though time is as always an issue.
