Her studio is a little unorthodox. She paints in various locations in her home. There are large windows for abundant natural light, a high ceiling, and a hard wood floor. Living on the top of a mountain surrounded by woods, the view is breathtaking. And since they consistently put out food for birds and deer, the parade of wildlife is never ending. "I have always loved art of any kind but especially abstracts. The striking combination of color, form, and emotion appeals to me." But she is not limited to abstracts. "I painted a grizzly bear for my husband but it ended up on my living room wall instead of his den because he said it doesn't look scary enough. I love it because it looks like a cuddly bear." Most of her work is with oil paints but she also does pencil drawings. "My favorite pencil drawing is a copy of a 1858 photo of my great-great-grandmother." Still, abstracts are her favorite. "I like abstracts because they are so flexible. Show me your room and the colors you want. Tell me what you want to feel when you look at the painting. I will paint it."
