AAWV March meeting
will be held Tuesday March 9th at 6:00pm at the Clay Center.  Our March meeting will begin with a FREE guided tour of the Clay Center exhibit “Lost in Form, Found in Line: An Exhibition of Works by Robert Motherwell (1915-1991).”

AAWV juried show deadline is March 10. 

NEWS:  The postmark deadline for submission to the FestiVall Street Fair is extended to March 8. Allied Artists can use our screens free of charge for this fair.

The late Kumkum Majumdar was a part of the Huntington area art world. A Retrospective of her work will be presented at the Renaissance Gallery (old Huntington High building) in Huntington Sunday, March 7th  2-4pm.

The Clay Center and Salvation Army are hosting organizations within the area arts community that are joining together to support the Haiti Relief efforts. For a donation of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00), you get a reserved seat at a spectacular performance of some of the most talented groups around on Sunday, March 14th at 4pm. Call the Clay Center for tickets-- they are expecting a sell- out! The performing groups include:

MAVENS 9 THE FEMINIST ART PROJECT - March 12 to April 23, 2010

Artists from the following West Virginia counties (only) are eligible to participate in the Three Rivers Arts Festival, June 4-13, in downtown Pittsburgh: Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, Monongalia, Marion, Ohio, Preston, Wetzel.
A)New Juried Visual Art Exhibition - Artists in the indicated counties can submit three individual pieces for jury. Deadline for submissions: March 30, 2010.  More information:

B)The 2010 Poster Contest - submit artwork for the 2010 Three Rivers Arts Festival poster. The winning artwork will creatively represent Three Rivers Arts Festival's mission to connect the community to the arts. The grand prize winning design will be used to help promote the 2010 Three Rivers Arts Festival throughout the region. Four winning designs will be produced as posters.
