Let’s get together and paint!  The first art-work day was a rousing success!  Newman generously gave of his time and space and expertise to host the paint together day.  Lots of fun, socializing, and art!!! Want to host an art-work day or got an idea for a future location? Contact me at 757-3326 or This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .  How about members in other parts of the state?  Wouldn't it be fun to get together for an art day in Parkersburg, Beckley, Morgantown, etc.?  I'll be glad to put it in the newsletter and on the website.

Clay Artists Rejoice!  Now you can buy your supplies locally at the Capitol Clay Arts Company located at 721 Crescent Rd. on Charleston’s West Side, near the intersection of I-64, I-77, & I-79.  Founders Karen and Mike Garnes present an array of clays, wheels, kilns, glazes, and more. Mike, a professional potter, plans to offer classes.  For more information call 304-720-9851.

I never in my wildest dreams believed that I would have this responsibility. I intend to do my best but I do not intend to be the President for more than the time it takes to have a new election.

I do believe we need some organization changes and we need to become a more interactive "do-things-together" type of organization. Here are some of my ideas...

Gallery of Members

Monday, 20 October 2008

Good News! Now you can start emailing me the images and info for your personal  page in the AAWV gallery. You can send an picture of yourself plus 3 images of your art.  Please send an email with your images as attachments and as jpg files - at least 200 dpi, 500 pixels wide (this is the minimum). Remember this is on the internet.  Unlike a file to be printed, you don't need a large file to look good on a computer screen.  And provide your bio as a word document or notepad. If you have a website, be sure to provide the address. If you send something that doesn't work, I will contact you.

If you can't email it, you can send me a CD with the information: Linda Stonestreet, PO Box 536, Hurricane, WV 25526. There is some labor involved in putting this info in the gallery so  be patient (I do have a full time job and other things to do!).
