NOTE: APRIL MEETING IS ON A SATURDAY!

Our next meeting will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 11:00 am at the Dunbar Public Library, 301 12th St, Dunbar, WV 25064. Patty Stewart will give a presentation on Marketing and Merchandising for in-person shows. Elections for some officer positions are coming up in May. We need a Vice President, Treasurer, and a Refreshments person. Please consider one of these positions for nominations at the April meeting, so we will be ready for elections at the May meeting to be held Thursday, May 9, at 6pm.

Thanks to AAWV member Debbie Sisson for her informative program at the March meeting. She covered the Elements of Art and Principles of Design, which are the foundation of the language we use to talk about art. She also discussed the basic rules of Composition. Debbie’s husband and fellow AAWV member, Steve Sisson, created a Power Point presentation of digital images, which Debbie had assembled to help thoroughly explain each element and principle. We appreciate being reminded of the importance of using this information in our work to help determine not only if a painting is successful, but also if a painting is finished. Thanks again, Debbie & Steve!
