The next meeting is scheduled for 6pm, Thurs, Sept 25th at the Dunbar Public Library, 301 12th St, Dunbar, WV 25064.

Our program presenter will be Lisa Harrison from Red House, WV. She will discuss her background in art, and will possibly do a demo either burning or painting on the flat brimmed hats that have been the rage for quite awhile.

Future meeting dates: Thurs, Oct 23, and Mon, Nov 17th.

ENCOURAGING WORDS FROM PATTY STEWART:

Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working. ~ Pablo Picasso

I recently came across this quote, and realized how true it is in my life. I’ve found that I sometimes find myself making excuses not to paint, not because I can’t find time, but because I have no idea what to paint. For me, it takes a determined effort to work on my craft at times. Other times, I find myself excited to pick up a brush and get to work. But whatever I feel, I know in my heart that the time I spend creating makes the rest of my day better and leaves me happy, knowing I’ve met that day’s challenge. My hope is that you work in your medium each day, even if for only a few minutes. Time and practice are all that’s needed to grow. Inspiration will follow!.
